Lecturer in Industrial and Sustainable Design, University of South Australia

I started my career in 1994 as an industrial designer working in manufacturing industries in South Australia. In 2003 I became a lecturer in industrial design at the University of South Australia. During this time I became interested in sustainable design and this is now my research focus. In 2014 I completed my PhD at the University of Adelaide. My thesis compared the ecological impacts of various types of construction materials regarding their embodied energy and thermal performance with a focus/case study of Earthships: off grid homes made with a substantial quantity of waste materials. I recently completed a Diploma of Building Design (2019).
