Martina Meincken

Martina studied physics in Germany and came for a six month internship at iThemba LABS to South Africa after completion of her MSc. This was slightly extended by a subsequent PhD at Stellenbosch University in the Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science and finally a position as lecturer in the Department of Forest and Wood Science. Twenty years later she is still in Stellenbosch, now as associate Professor and her research deals with all aspects of (wood based) materials science, ranging from paper, over wood plastic composites to musical instruments.
