Lecturer in Organizational Behaviour, University of Leeds

Martyn Griffin joined LUBS in 2014 from Durham University Business School. Prior to this he was a research associate at the University of Central Lancashire in applied education. He is currently a holder of an ESRC future leaders grant exploring freedom and change in democratic organizations. He has particular interests in culture and organization, organizational democracy, power and freedom in the workplace and the application of republican and poststructuralist theory to understand alternative organizations. Martyn has published in journals such as Organization Studies, Journal of Management Inquiry, Management Learning, Studies in Philosophy and Education, Journal of Value Inquiry and the London Review of Education

His research interests are in: organizational democracy; freedom, power and control in organizations; learning in organizations; intermediaries of research co-production; change management in alternative organizations; care and compassion in organizations; representations of work and organization in animation; research facilitation and administration; alternative organizations; organizational constitutions; civic republicanism; post-structuralism.
