I'm a post-doctoral public health researcher currently working at Glasgow Caledonian University. In the past I have been involved in research looking at HIV, the health effects of social isolation, healthcare engagement with marginalised groups, migrant and asylum seeker and refugee healthcare engagement, anti-microbial resistance and most recently HIV among heroin users in Glasgow. I have a back ground in Sociology, but started working in public health when I realised this was an area where my work could result in greater impact to improve our society. My central research interests are public health engagement with marginalised populations, addiction, health and ethnicity and innovation in qualitative approaches to research.
