Matteo Vergani

Dr. Matteo Vergani is a Senior Lecturer of Sociology at Deakin University. His work focuses on promoting peace and inclusion in diverse societies through applied research, education, and engagement projects. Matteo's research explores the risk and protective factors associated with various forms of prejudice, discrimination, social exclusion, hate speech, hate crime, and terrorism. Matteo believes in conducting research that is based on solid evidence and rigorous methods. He conducts evidence synthesis, develops validated measurement tools, and carries out industry-focused research projects using both quantitative (cross-sectional and experimental designs) and qualitative (interviews, visual research) methods.
