Matthew is a Lecturer in the Centre for Biostatistics, based in the School of Health Sciences at The University of Manchester. His primary focus lies in identifying and applying correct statistical methods and interpretation to large observational epidemiological datasets, usually obtained from records based processes or audit programs.
Since completing his PhD in Environmental Epidemiology, Matthew has undertaken in a number of research collaborations in a wide variety of clinical settings. Most recently he has been predominantly working in neurology, specifically stroke rehabilitation and care, where he has been using data from the national stroke audit to explore stroke patients care and health outcomes whilst in hospital within England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
