Matthew Kirby

Matthew Kirby is an interdisciplinary environmental researcher who has recently submitted his PhD at Northumbria University and Newcastle University in the UK. His research focuses on sustainable futures for people and nature using mixed-methods approaches applied at the science-policy interface. His PhD research included policy analysis, participatory mapping, ecosystem service modelling, and participatory scenarios to quantify and mainstream Green Belt multifunctionality. His broader interests encompass multifunctional landscapes, ecosystem services, social-ecological systems, green-blue infrastructure, and environmental planning.
