Matthias Cuntz is Directeur de Recherche at the Institut National de Recherche pour l’Agriculture, l’Alimentation et l’Environnement (INRAE) in Nancy, France. He received a PhD in physics in 2002, subsequently working in atmospheric physics (Paris), biology (Canberra), biogeochemical cycles (Jena), and hydrology (Leipzig). He combines measurements and modelling to understand and describe mathematically the processes behind the exchanges of the atmosphere with the biosphere.
