I earned my PhD in History in 2020 from the University of Toronto, where I’m currently working as a Sessional Lecturer. By way of background, my work draws on the “emotional turn” in historical analysis to highlight the emotional impulses and psychological dynamics that influenced Nixon’s decision-making in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973, shedding light on how these factors shaped what is often considered a “realist” moment in the history of U.S. foreign relations. I’m working on a book manuscript called Emotional Mismanagement: Richard Nixon and U.S. Withdrawal from Vietnam.
