I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Educational Policy and Leadership Studies Department, specifically in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program at the University of Iowa. My scholarly interest broadly covers (1) the systems of inequity and limited opportunities impacting the pathways of minoritized students' college choice, access, and success, 2) comparative international and global south education, (3) sub-Saharan African and African Diaspora students in higher education outcomes and opportunities after graduation. Some of my research projects explore the educational experiences of children of African immigrants' college-going preparations and their social capital, college choice among children of immigrants, African international graduate students' educational alignments and career aspirations, and the academic achievements and motivations of African international graduate students in STEM fields.
