Max Beran

Most of my working life was spent as a hydrologist specialising in the statistical analysis of extreme hydrological events. Over the final decade of employment I was managing a multilab research programme into aspects of the global environment including global warming, ozone depletion and biodiversity reduction. I am interested in the area at the boundary of environmental science and civilisation/ human development. I am an alumnus of Birmingham University, one of the site sponsors.
