Md Arif Hasan is a PhD candidate in Environmental Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He is also a recipient of the Victoria Doctoral Scholarship. He has been working as a tutor at Victoria University of Wellington since 2017. The courses that he has been tutoring include 'GEOG 112: Introduction to Human Geography and Development Studies', 'GEOG 114: Environment and Resources: the Foundations' and ‘GEOG 314: Advanced Environment and Resources: Global Issues’. He earned his Masters of City & Regional Planning from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia in 2016 and worked as a grader of the course 'CRP 505: Statistical analysis in planning' there. He did his Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2012. He is a self-motivated and organized research student with over five years of teaching and research experiences in the field of climate change, environment and transport. He has published a number of scientific journal articles in different international refereed journals.
