Megan Hershey is Professor of Political Science at Whitworth University in Spokane WA. She earned a BA in History and Politics from Ursinus College and a PhD in Political Science, with a minor in African Studides, from Indiana University. She is the author of "Whose Agency: The Politics and Practice of Kenya’s HIV-Prevention NGOs" (University of Wisconsin Press, 2019) and co-author, after Amy Patterson and Tracy Kuperus, of "Africa's Urban Youth: Challenging Marginalization, Claiming Citizenship" (Cambridge University Press, 2023). Her areas of interest include civil society, development, the politics of HIV/AIDS, and youth, with a focus on Kenya and Tanzania. She teaches courses in comparative politics, African politics, international development, and peace studies.
