Megan Squire is a computer scientist studying niche and extremist online communities. She collects, stores, curates, and analyzes large amounts of textual and network data from online sources including social media. In 2004, she co-founded a project called FLOSSmole to collect and analyze data to understand the free, libre and open source software (FLOSS) community. In 2017, she began a project called Whack-A-Mole to analyze data about right-wing extremist communities online. She is also a Sr. Fellow at the Center for Analysis of the Radical Right.
