Melanie Williams

Melanie Williams specialises in the study of British cinema with a particular emphasis on issues of gender. Her publications include British Women's Cinema, Prisoners of Gender: Women in the Films of J. Lee Thompson, Ealing Revisited, Shane Meadows: Critical Essays, Mamma Mia: Perspectives on a Cultural Phenomenon, and David Lean. She is currently working on an AHRC-funded collaborative project on British cinema of the 1960s.
