Melissa Garrett is an Assistant Professor with the University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Education. She and her colleague Dr. Andrea Garner head the Exceptional Learners program, a graduate program which prepares educators for the dynamic role of resource educator. Having completed her doctoral work investigating strength-based practices within a dual-dimensional approach to inclusive education, her research now focuses on the area of inclusion as it relates to exceptional learners in the school system with an intersecting focus of French second language learners.
