Melissa Eaton is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and PhD candidate from the University of Wollongong. She is also a weight-inclusive, mental health dietitian and has completed a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science (Food and Nutrition) graduating with distinction. She has previously worked as a research officer, which has earned her co-authorship on several high-profile publications, including research articles in World Psychiatry, BMC Medicine, and Frontiers for Young Minds.
Melissa’s PhD research investigates nutrition and mental health, with a focus on eating behaviour, disordered eating, and weight-stigma. She hopes her research will contribute to the adoption of a more ‘health-centric’ healthcare system, to better support all bodies and individuals living with mental health concerns.
