Mélusine Martin

Melusine Martin is an environmental and digital social scientist, a former Landhaus Fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society and currently an Adjunct Research Fellow at James Cook University. A member of the Social Science Community for the Great Barrier Reef and the Marine Social Network Australia, Melusine investigates humans’ relationships with nature in the digital age, focusing on the interactions between identity, marine environments and digital technology. Holding a PhD in environmental sociology from Sorbonne Université (France) and James Cook University (Australia), she has contributed to globally significant projects including the International Coral Reef Initiative and the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program. Her first book, “Reconnectez-vous à la nature” [Reconnect to nature], based on her PhD research, was published in March 2024 by the French publishing house Larousse.

Melusine Martin est chercheuse en humanités environnementales et numériques, anciennement chercheuse en résidence au Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society et chercheuse associée à James Cook University. Membre de la Social Science Community for the Great Barrier Reef et the Marine Social Network Australia, Melusine étudie les relations entre les êtres humains et la nature à l'ère numérique, en se concentrant sur les interactions entre identité, environnements marins et technologie numérique. Titulaire d'un doctorat en sociologie environnementale de Sorbonne Université (France) et James Cook University (Australie), elle a contribué à des projets mondialement significatifs, notamment l'Initiative Internationale pour les Récifs Coralliens et le Programme de Restauration et d'Adaptation des Récifs. Son premier livre, "Reconnectez-vous à la nature", basé sur sa thèse de doctorat, est paru en mars 2024 aux éditions Larousse.
