Senior lecturer, University of Sydney

Dr. Meraiah Foley is a Senior Lecturer in Work and Organisational Studies at the University of Sydney Business School. Her research focuses on how organisational systems and processes drive gender inequality at work. Recent research projects have focused on: women's experiences working in male-dominated occupations and industries, the gendered dimensions of workplace technological change; the role of senior leaders and middle managers in promoting gender equality in organisations; and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women workers. Dr. Foley is a Chief Investigator on two Australian Research Council (ARC) grants, and is currently Principle Investigator on a project investigating how to boost women's participation in cybersecurity careers. Before becoming an academic, Dr. Foley had a ten-year career as a journalist, working for the Associated Press and The New York Times.
