I have been at Flinders University since 1973, and since 2003 have been Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
I have been president of the Australian Society of Herpetologists, Assistant Secretary General of the World Congress of Herpetology and Vice president of the Royal Society of SA.
I have been first named CI on 24 ARC grants, have published over 240 papers in the peer reviewed literature, and have been principal supervisor for 49 research higher degree students.
I have served on the ARC College of Experts Biological Science panel, and have been Managing Editor of the journal "Austral Ecology" since 1997. In that role I also serve on the Council of the Ecological Society of Australia.
I have been chair of the Scientific Program Committee for INTECOL10 (2009) and the 2nd and 4th World Congresses of Herpetology (1993, 2001)
