I’m a senior lecturer in sport and exercise science at Teesside University, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. After my MSc Sport and Exercise Science I spent a number of years as a health improvement specialist working with clients and groups with multiple chronic health conditions and improving access to physical activity in areas with high levels of deprivation. My PhD (completed in July 2020) focussed on the school playground environmental as a suitable environment to enhance fundamental movement skills and promote a higher level of physical activity in primary school children. My research interests and publications focus largely on physical activity and health.
