Michael J. Orlando

Lecturer, Finance and Politics, Global Energy Management Program, University of Colorado Denver

Dr. Michael J. Orlando holds PhD and MA degrees in Economics, an MBA, and a BS in Engineering. His research spans a range of topics in applied microeconomics. He has published work on the economic geography and industrial demography of innovation, the economics of payments networks, financial regulatory policy and corporate governance, and energy and environmental policy. He has also co-authored a textbook on money and banking. An award-winning teacher, he has developed courses in economics, finance, political risk analysis and strategy, and energy business management and policy. He teaches in the University of Colorado Denver Global Energy Management Program. Dr. Orlando is also Managing Director at econONE Research, where he provides expert analysis and testimony for clients engaged in judicial and regulatory disputes, and advises organizations facing complex commercial, financial, and political risks.
