Michael James Boland

PhD Researcher, IRC Government of Ireland Scholar, University College Cork

My research is in corporate law. In particular, I am considering the impact of corporate action on stakeholders such as employees and society at large and thus trying to show how most corporate law frameworks expect a stakeholder-orientated or entity approach to be taken in decision-making. While I am primarily concerned with Irish company law, my research necessarily draws on international experience.

It is in this context that I am interested in how the corporation responds to a variety of global issues including environmental degradation, climate change, human rights abuse and why I recently took an interest in how global technology firms responded to the Capitol riots in the United States.
