Michael Jones is an Associate Professor, Educator of Economics at the University of Cincinnati and the Acedmic Director for the Kautz-Uible Economics Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to receiving his Ph.D., he worked as a Senior Research Analyst for the Nielsen Company and as a Senior Business Development Manager at Cincinnati Bell.
He has been an Emerging Education Policy Scholar with the Thomas B. Fordham Institute and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). He has received funding from the Mellon Foundation to organize a seminar series on the Political Economy of K-12 Education Reform. He has spoken with media and professional interest groups on economic topics such as the Great Recession, labor market dynamics, retail sales forecasting, and demographic trends. His research interests include: labor economics, public economics, and the economics of education.
