I'm the Jeffrey L. Hyde and Sharon D. Hyde and Political Science Board of Visitors Early Career Professor in Political Science, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at The Pennsylvania State University, and Affiliate Faculty at Penn State Law. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis. I am also the Ph.D. Placement Director for Penn State's Political Science department.
I study and teach about American political institutions, with particular attention to state judicial politics and public evaluations of judicial institutions. My research has been published or is forthcoming in the American Journal of Political Science, International Studies Quarterly, The Journal of Law and Courts, Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, Political Research Quarterly, Public Opinion Quarterly, State Politics & Policy Quarterly, Judicature, Electoral Studies, and the Vanderbilt Law Review.
