Michael O'Donnell

Professor of Human Resources Management, UNSW Sydney

Prior to taking up his professorship in July 2009, Michael was Associate Professor in the College of Business and Economics at the Australian National University. He has also held appointments at the University of Canberra and the University of New South Wales.

Michael's research interests include human resource practices and employment relations in the public sector, executive remuneration in the private sector and international employment relations.

He has acted as a chief investigator on large ARC funded projects exploring management strategy and employment relations in the Australian and United Kingdom public sectors and executive remuneration and corporate governance in Australian listed companies.

Michael has also coauthored several monographs including Unions and Globalisation: Governments, Management, and the State at Work (Routledge) and The Chaebol and Labour in Korea: The Development of Management Strategy in Hyundai (Routledge).

He has published widely in management and employment relations journals including the Journal of Management Studies, the International Journal of Human Resource Management and the Journal of Industrial Relations.
