Michael has extensive commercial experience in corporate advisory and finance in Australia and overseas. Formerly Director of the Australian Centre for Public Infrastructure at the University of Melbourne, his responsibilities include supervision of the postgraduate research and coursework programs in infrastructure and large project procurement including relationship contracting and public private partnerships.

He specialises in infrastructure, major project procurement and project finance.

Non-academic employment includes investment banking (Corporate Capital Partners, Queensland Industry Development Corporation, Schroders Australia Limited), business advisory (Ernst and Young, Arthur Young) and the energy sector (Shell Company and Mobil Oil Australia).

He has worked for clients on projects in Australia, the Asia Pacific, the United Kingdom and North America in the energy, land and air transport, ports, education and health sectors.
