Mieczysław P. Boduszyński

Assistant Professor of Politics, Pomona College

Mietek Boduszynski teaches U.S. Foreign Policy at Pomona College, and was a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State at postings in Albania, Kosovo, Japan, Egypt, Libya and Iraq. At Pomona, he also teaches courses on the Arab Spring, democracy promotion and democratization.Boduszynski is an expert on the Balkans and the modern Middle East and North Africa, especially Iraq, Libya and Egypt. He has published a book on democratization in the Balkans, and has a new book titled "US Democracy Promotion in the Arab World: Beyond Interests vs. Ideals".

Boduszynski served as a 2016-2018 Center for Public Diplomacy Research Fellow at the University of Southern California, a 2017-2018 Resident Fellow at IAU College o-Paris Scholar at Osaka School of International Public Policy (Summer 2017) and the University of Gothenburg-V-Dem Institute, and has taught at the American University of Cairo, Temple University-Japan, and Sciences-Po Paris School of International Affairs.
