Mihajla joined UTS Business School as a lecturer and researcher in February 2019. Her PhD thesis examined how teacher trade unions have responded to neoliberal education reform as it affects the working conditions of public school teachers. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) and Doctor of Philosophy (Business) from the University of Sydney and received the University Medal for her Honours thesis. Prior to entering academia, she worked as a senior adviser for Australia's national workplace regulator, the Fair Work Ombudsman, across various policy, advisory, research and project roles. Mihajla is a member of the Association of Industrial Relations Academics in Australia and New Zealand (AIRAANZ) and Executive Committee member of the Industrial Relations Society of New South Wales.
