Miquel Oliu-Barton

Associate Professor of Mathematics, Université Paris Dauphine – PSL

Miquel Oliu-Barton is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Paris-Dauphine University. His research interests include game theory, probability theory and microeconomics. He did his PhD in mathematics at Sorbonne University (formerly Pierre and Marie Curie University), where he graduated in 2013. He holds a BA in mathematics from the Ecole normale supérieure of Paris, and MSc in Probability theory from Sorbonne University. 

Originally from Barcelona, he has always been fond of mathematics. In 2001, he represented Spain at the 41st International Mathematical Olympiad. In 2014, his PhD thesis was awarded with the 'PGMO prize' by the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard. Recently, he resolved a major problem in the field of mathematical game theory, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science of the USA in 2019.
