Assistant Research Professor of Public Health, University of Arizona

I am a mixed-methods researcher with an educational background in Public Health (MSPH) and Geography (PhD). I have worked in the public health emergency preparedness arena for over 12 years. My research focuses on building the public health capacity to address "wicked" public health challenges such as pandemics and climate change through the development of decision-support tools; enhancing science communication and translation; and integrating a health and equity lens to adaptation planning. Some of my other COVID-19 research areas include understanding and evaluating the health and wellbeing impacts on non-healthcare worker essential personnel, identifying barriers to adherence in recommended public health guidelines, and understanding and evaluating the retail sector’s response to the pandemic.
