Mylene Ratelle is specialized in public health, with an expertise in risk assessment and management for vulnerable or remote populations. She obtained her PhD in Public Health at the University of Montreal. Mylene has a multidisciplinary profile including epidemiology, toxicology, biology and risk management. She is an Assistant Professor at University of Montreal, and Adjunct Professor at University of Waterloo.
She is working on projects in the North of Canada to investigate the associations between the environment, health, and food. Several of her projects have a focus on contaminant exposure, food and water safety and security. She is also involved in humanitarian initiatives in Africa and Middle East. She has a strong interest in environmental and social justice.
