Natascha Kljun’s research focuses on greenhouse gas exchanges between the land-surface and the atmosphere.
She studies how natural or man-made disturbances on the biosphere impact the plants’ abilities to remove carbon dioxide from the air. Examples of such disturbances are wildfire or clear-cutting of forests.
Natascha also applies her expertise to urban landscapes, i.e. cities. Here she models how different emission sources and the green space of cities contribute to their total carbon dioxide budget.
