Nicholas Gurieff

Research Associate for Energy and Resources, University of Newcastle

Nicholas is an energy storage researcher focussed on the role that hydrogen can play in supporting Australia's gas and electricity networks which supply essential services to industry and the community. His doctoral research at the University of New South Wales concentrated on redox flow battery technology, improving energy efficiency with new cell designs developed using computer aided design and multiphysics finite element analysis. Outside university he has performed in a range of roles for industry and community groups, and served as an engineer officer in the Royal Australian Navy. He is a director of the Australian Institute of Energy and held an elected position on the UNSW Council.
