PhD candidate in Economics, Stellenbosch University

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Natal and then received a Commonwealth scholarship to study health economics at Masters level in the United Kingdom. I worked in health economics research for several years, before deciding to branch into education economics. I am enrolled for a PhD in Economics at Stellenbosch University under the supervision of Prof Servaas van der Berg and Prof. Jill Hanass Hancock (SAMRC). My PhD focuses on disability-inclusive education in South Africa.

My eldest child has a physical disability. Parenting a child with a disability has influenced my research interests and given me unique insights into disability and education in South Africa.
