I am an infectious disease epidemiologist specialising in the application of genomics for the control of diseases transmitted between animals and people (zoonoses). I am Chief Science Advisor for Te Niwha, the infectious diseases platform, and Emeritus Director of The New Zealand Food Safety Science and Research Centre.
