Nolan L. Cabrera

Associate Professor of Education, University of Arizona

I have over 70 scholarly publications to my name including the award-winning book "White Guys on Campus." I focus on the the racial dynamics on college campuses with a focus on Whiteness, and the efficacy of Ethnic Studies programs on student achievement. My empirical work has been cited extensively in multiple scholarly fields, and has been influential in legal cases (Arce v. Douglas, Mexican American Studies ban in Tucson), educational policy (LA Unified School District; Texas State Board of Education), and popular culture (e.g., MTV documentary "White People"). I have worked extensively to translate my scholarly work for media outlets having written for Inside Higher Education, Al Jazzera America, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Arizona Daily Star, Arizona Republic, Chronicle of Higher Education, and the Scholar Strategy Network.
