Nuria Lorenzo-Dus

Professor of English Language & Applied Linguistics, Swansea University

I graduated from the University of Valencia with a B.A. Honours degree in English and German Linguistics. I then completed my Diploma in Language and Communication and my PhD in Discourse Analysis at the Centre for Language and Communication Research, Cardiff University.

Throughout my academic career I have worked on a number of major research projects, including on media representations of the 2005 London bombings (2008-2011), online grooming of children (2012 - ) , online jihadist propaganda (2014-2016) and crypto-drug markets (2016 - ). I founded the Language Research Centre in 2010 and directed it until 2015. I serve as a member of the editorial boards of Memory Studies (Sage), Journal of Language Aggression and Conflict (John Benjamins) and Spanish in Context (John Benjamins).
