Lecturer in Strategic Management, Aston University

Omid Omidvar joined Aston Business School in January 2018, having spent the previous two years at Coventry University where I worked as a lecturer in strategy. After completing his PhD in Alliance Manchester Business School, Omid spent a year at the University of Edinburgh as an ESRC research fellow.

Omidvar's research mainly concerns how organisations engage with innovations, change, and re-orientations in their day-to-day activities and practices. Theoretically, his work is rooted in organization and practice theories. In this broad context, he follows two parallel research interests. First, he analyses how organisational learning develops and how knowledge is created and transformed in multi-organizational multidisciplinary work contexts. Second, he explores the interrelation of organizational routines, change and stability researching how organisational routines are co-constituted within their broader context. In his research, he predominantly uses qualitative methods.
