Pamela Watkins Garner

Professor of Childhood Studies, George Mason University

Pamela Garner is Professor of Childhood Studies and Human Development and Family Science at the School of Integrative Studies George Mason University. She received her doctorate in Educational Psychology and Human Development from Texas A&M University. She completed predoctoral training in Developmental Psychology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and postdoctoral training in Developmental Psychology at the University of Houston. Dr. Garner conducts research on the social-emotional development of children who are economically disadvantaged and otherwise marginalized and investigates the contributions of parents and teachers to young children’s social emotional learning.
