Paroma Chatterjee

Professor of History of Art, University of Michigan

Paroma Chatterjee is Professor of Byzantine and medieval Mediterranean art at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research interests lie in medieval image theories, relics, iconoclasm, word-image relations, and miracles. She has written a book on icons of saints in Byzantium and Italy. Her second book, on statues in medieval Constantinople, was recently published.
