Patricia Maloney

Dr. Patricia Maloney is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Texas Tech University, where she is also the Director of Community and Urban Studies. Dr. Maloney's research focuses on the sociology of education, specifically looking at how teachers and administrators in schools are moral actors who teach character to students. She is currently examining the school-to-deportation pipeline, in which recent immigrant students can either be pushed into or pulled out of the criminal justice/deportation systems by school staff.
