Patrick J. Doyle

Patrick J. Doyle is a historian of the U.S. Civil War with particular research interests in the Confederate home front, nationalism and conscription, and gender history. His research has been supported by funding bodies such as the Arts and Humanities Research Council and US-UK Fulbright Commission and has appeared in several important peer-reviewed journals. His book on the Civil War in South Carolina is forthcoming with Cambridge University Press.
