I am a researcher of biological and cultural evolution at the Institute for Future Studies, also associated with the Centre for the Study of Cultural Evolution & the Department of Zoology at Stockholm University, and with the V-Dem Institute at Gothenburg University.
My biological research mainly focuses on the evolution of the primate brain, the evolution of sex differences, and the development and use of phylogenetic methods. Other than that I research the possibility of borrowing thinking and methodology from evolutionary biology to understand societal and cultural change. Within this project, I have studied evolutionary processes in democratization, religiosity and cooking.
