My research expertise is in digital marketing, specifically social media marketing. I have published my research in over 60 international journal articles and books, and presented it at over 50 international conferences. I supervise 6 doctoral students, and have had 7 complete and go on to work in universities across Australia.
My teaching focus is on digital marketing, where I have developed and delivered undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive courses in the UK, France, Australia, and the UAE. These multicultural classes have ranged in size from 25 to 800 students, and in topic from Introduction to Marketing, to Digital Marketing, to Marketing Analytics.
At UWA, I was Acting Head of the Marketing Department for almost two years, and was a member of the Academic Board. More broadly, I am a member of the ANZMAC executive committee, serving as Vice President and responsible for their digital marketing. I am an Associate Editor at the Journal of Marketing Management, and on the editorial board of the Journal of Interactive Advertising. I have also been a PhD examiner and promotions assessor for a range of Australian, New Zealand, and European universities. Last, but not least, I consult with industry on social media marketing, and engage regularly with the media on issues around digital marketing more broadly.
