Paul MacDaragh Ryan

Junior Doctor (Academic Track Intern), University College Cork

Paul is an Academic Track Intern Doctor at Cork University Hospital and University College Cork, Cork Ireland.

His PhD explored the role of the gut microbiome in host cardiometabolic disease.

Paul is a currently an Evidence Synthesis Ireland Fellow, contributing to the work of Prof. Jeremy Grimshaw’s group in University of Ottawa.

He is also continuing research projects on the gut microbiome and metabolic syndrome within the Centre for Research in Vascular Biology, University College Cork. Since 2017,

Paul also acts as Associate Editor at International Journal of Medical Students (www.IJMS.info), a relatively young initiative which aims to promote uptake and dissemination of research conducted by the medics of tomorrow.
