Pauline Barmby's research in astrophysics uses telescopes on Earth and in space to understand the inner workings of galaxies. She uses computer data-mining techniques and community-developed software to extract information from astronomical data. In addition to research, her experience includes academic leadership, communicating science to the public, and teaching computational techniques to scientists.
