Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Head of Breast Cancer Targeting and Drug Delivery Laboratory, University of Sydney

Dr Pegah Varamini is a Chief Investigator, Senior Lecturer and Group Leader within the University of Sydney Pharmacy School. She is the Head of the Breast Cancer Targeting & Drug Delivery Laboratory, leading a team of researchers who conduct multiple interdisciplinary projects. Dr Varamini was one of the four awardees of the prestigious National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) fellowship and grant in Jan 2016. She is an emerging leader in drug delivery using the “Trojan Horse” approach for targeted therapy of cancer. She holds a Record of Invention and a Patent on her idea for developing novel targeted therapeutics for the treatment of challenging types of cancer. With a background in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, she contributes to training future pharmaceutical scientists and pharmacists in the Sydney Pharmacy School as a Senior Lecturer and unit of study coordinator. Dr Varamini is the co-chair leading the NanoPharma cluster within the NanoHealth Network at Sydney Nano Institute. She is the Australian representative and a scientific advisor at WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI).
