Professor of Landscape Architecture, University of Technology Sydney

Dr Penny Allan is Professor of Landscape Architecture at UTS where she teaches and researches in the areas of urban and regional resilience and design. She has a background in design practice in both the public and private sector in Australia. Her most recent research explores new paradigms for resilience and adaptation to climate change for coastal communities affected by fire and flood. She recently received a National Award of Excellence for her latest research: two short films, shown at the 2021 Venice Biennale, about climate change in Australia — Living with Fire and the Value of Water.
