Visiting Professor of Telecommunications, Department of Management Science, University of Strathclyde

Peter Curwen joined the Sheffield Hallam University in 1970 after five years spent studying at Liverpool University and a stint at Esso Petroleum. He took early retirement in 2002 having achieved the post of Professor of Business Economics.

He has pursued three sequential lines of research: the economics of book publishing, public enterprise & privatisation and telecommunications. In addition to several best-selling textbooks, he has published a series of ground-breaking industrial monographs. Altogether, he has published over 100 articles in learned journals and a wide variety of other material. For the past five years, he has worked and published with Dr. Jason Whalley in the field of mobile telecommunications.
